Required: must be met for the credential.
Klar Cite summary
Production chemicals must exclude Candidate List, PBT, vPvB and endocrine-disrupting substances, with siloxane residues to 1000 ppm and named exemptions. This concerns human health.
Nordic Swan·clause O28·pp.35-36
Human Health · Social Health & Equity · Ecosystem Health
- Limit
- ≤ 1000 ppm
- Exemption
- Exemption applies to melamine (CAS No. 108-78-1); D4 (CAS No. 556-67-2), D5 (CAS No. 541-02-6) or D6 (CAS No. 540-97-6) must only be included in the form of residues from raw material production and are allowed in concentrations up to 1000 ppm each in the silicone raw material.; 2,2-dibromo-2-cyanoacetamide (DBNPA, CAS No. 10222-01-2) is exempted from the requirement.; Butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT, CAS No. 128-37-0) is exempted up to 100 ppm in the chemical product.; IPBC (3-iodo-2-propynyl butylcarbamate, CAS No. 55406-53-6) is exempted, however see requirement O27.; An exemption is made for BHT that is included in UV curing chemical products. If BHT receives a harmonised classification, the classification requirements in O26 will be applied.; An exemption is made for Methyl Ethyl Ketone (MEK, CAS No. 78-93-3) below 2% concentration in the hardener in two-component fillers, if the following is met: o it must be documented that the workers are not exposed to the components, e.g., by using safety equipment when mixing or that the mixing takes place automatically without exposure of the workers o the application of the finished two-component system is done in a closed system. If MEK receives a harmonised classification covered by these criteria, the classification requirements in O26 will be applied.; Halogenated organic compounds. Exemptions* for: o Pigments that meet the EU’s requirement concerning colourants in food packaging under Resolution AP (89) point 2.5. o Preservatives that fulfil O27. o Exemption applies for halogenated epoxy acrylate used in UV curing products. * Perfluorinated and polyfluorinated alkyl substances are covered by their own bullet and are not included in the exemption.; An exemption is made for aziridines/polyaziridines, if the substance is not classified as carcinogenic, mutagenic or reprotoxic from any manufacturer or in ECHA; Bisphenol A used in the production of epoxy acrylate is not covered by the requirement.; An exemption is made for sterically hindered phenolic antioxidants with molecular weight (MW) > 600 g/mole.
