- The applicant shall provide a declaration of non-use from the manufacturer of the foam. 7.3. Other padding materials Other materials may be permitted to be used as padding in furniture upholstery if the following conditions are met: — General requirements for hazardous substances set out in criterion 2 are respected. — Halogenated organic compounds are not used as blowing agents or as auxiliary blowing agents. — Feathers or down are not be used as padding/filling material either alone or in blends. — If the padding/filling material uses coconut fibre rubberised using latex, compliance with criterion 7.1(a) and 7.1(b) is demonstrated.
