- Note 1: Small-scale forest growers or those managing trees outside forests (in agriculture or urban areas) are often not able to maintain carbon stocks in the short term because they do not regularly harvest and regrow trees. These managers should demonstrate their intention to maintain tree cover and carbon stocks across their managed area over the long term.
